As
Christians, we can take comfort in the fact that our earthly troubles are only
temporal as we look forward to the heavenly hope that we have in Christ.
For
God has chosen us before the creation of the world to be his people who have
been saved by God's grace from our sins through Christ's death on the cross.
Today’s
poem was another one written based on a sermon series delivered by Sam Allberry
in my church’s annual camp in 2012.
In
Christ: Confidence in Our Salvation
By Joanne
Liaw Sook Ling (6 th May 2012)
In Christ we were chosen by God’s grace
To be a people of his holy race
Before the creation of the world took place
Prior to the existence of time and space
In
Christ God has called us from our sins
Transformed
in Christ-likeness from within
From
spiritual death we are redeemed
Through
Jesus’ death we have life in him
The
wrath of God has been withdrawn
The
sting of death is past and gone
Have
no fear for after night comes dawn
Where
we will join our Lord in heavenly song
For I am sure
that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor
things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our
Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)
