The Brightness of Dawn

Hello All,
Do you look forward to mornings?
Or does the ringing of your alarm clock weigh your heart down with dread?
There are days when we wake up and tell ourselves, ‘What a beautiful morning this is!’
But more often than not, we dread when dawn approaches.
We dread to face the day ahead. We fear the stress, struggles, uncertainties and heartaches that lie ahead of us.
God knows our fears and He is by our side as we wake up each morning.

The Brightness of Dawn
By Joanne Liaw Sook Ling (24 March 2016)
Dedicated to my friend, Wong Yoke Ling.

Morning is here
You know my fears
My prayers You hear
You calm my fears

Daybreak is here
Darkness it sears
You are right here
To dry my tears

Daylight is here
Sunrays appear
Fears disappear
When You draw near

Dayspring is here
The sky is clear
No rain and tears
Your joy draws near

The dawn has come
Bright is its sun
The Son has come
To Him, we run

Points for Reflection:
Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
(Psalm 30:5b ESV)
·         What keeps you awake and gives you sleepless nights? What do you fear at the start of each day? What brings you fear and tears to your eyes?
·         We will have troubles in this world. But for those of us who trust in Jesus Christ, we know that our troubles are temporal. Our troubles are only for this life and there will be a day with no more suffering and tears.
·         Heaven is our true home. In the meantime, we are sojourners of this earth, travelling the dusty road of this life. Though each step may seem like a heavy one to make, God gives us the strength to journey on. He comforts us and wipes away our tears. He sends people to share our burdens and lessen the pain of this life.

·         Who helps you sleep peacefully at night? Who gives you courage at the start of each day? What brings you comfort and hope? I hope you can say to yourself, ‘Jesus Christ!’ Run to the Son!
